What in the World Happened Today Language and Literacy, Social and Emotional As we read with children in small groups and individually, we introduce children to new vocabulary and boost language comprehension by reading the words and talking about what we see in the illustrations⁠. As we explore books about diverse cities, towns, and neighborhoods we take time to make connections to our own communities⁠. STEM, Thinking and Learning We celebrate Discovery Driven Learning and creative exploration by following the unique interests of the children⁠. We begin this process by observing and making note of the songs, books, movement activities, and other experiences that the children respond to, then take the time to encourage and grow upon these unique emerging interests⁠. We fill our treasure basket with some of our favorite items, encouraging the children to add to it throughout the week
