Building
on Different Surfaces:
Our blocks area provides a wonderful open, flat space for building. But
right now, we’re exploring different ways of building as we invite
children to build and knock over structures on unique surfaces. Building
on ramps or soft mats changes the way that children can build and
balance materials, challenging their thinking and coordination skills. |

explore Early Math and Science, one of our Bright Horizons signature
practices, we provided materials for children to experiment with
balancing objects and balancing their bodies. Today children did this by
