What in the World Happened Today
Movement Matters Zone (MMZ) - At the Movement Matters Zone, children will engage in activities such as playing with balls, jumping, completing obstacle courses, biking, and running. These activities help strengthen children's large muscles and support overall physical development.
Read Aloud - The Mitten
Morning Meeting - The children will sing the “Who Came to School Today?” song. We will then choose jobs for the week, followed by discussing the calendar, the weather, and the question of the day (Are tree branches easy to break?). We will talk about different classroom items made of wood.
Center Time - Children will use their picture card to choose and transition between different centers in the classroom.
Things Made of Wood - Children will work together to search the classroom for objects made of wood.

What in the World Happened Today
Health and Wellness, STEM
When young children use their hands to explore the properties of materials, they build the hand-eye coordination and muscles they will eventually use for writing. Natural material additions pique children’s interest and help build their connection to the natural world.

Health and Wellness, Language and Literacy, STEM
Children engage with nesting cups and bowls by stacking, fitting, and organizing them in different ways. They explore size relationships and problem-solving through trial and error. This experience encourages spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination. Children persist in arranging the pieces and celebrate when they fit together.
